Does Hula Global only work with Fashion Designers?

Can Hula Global help fashion designers.

Yes and No! Yes - if you are a fashion designer and you are planning to launch your own fashion brand, then our programs like Bootcamp and co-pilot would be very beneficial.

However, Hula Global does not work solely with fashion designers, and in fact, we do the opposite intentionally. While we have great admiration for trained fashion designers and even work together with them quite often when they build their own brands; however, Hula Global does not work exclusively, or even primarily, with trained fashion designers.

Instead, Hula Global collaborates with brand owners, entrepreneurs, creators, and business leaders along with the fashion designers. We do not work with fashion designers as individuals, and certainly not fashion designers working alone.

The majority of our clientele is in D2C e-commerce, Wholesale, retail, and even surplus/liquidation, and they come from such diverse professional areas as finance, tech, content, and media, etc.

For us, what is most important is not the educational background in fashion design or otherwise, but the understanding and readiness to engage in brand building and teamwork throughout the course of product development and manufacture.

Many of Hula Global's partners' brands are founded by people with little or no formal fashion training. Some started their careers as influencers, entrepreneurs, or even micro-businesses and saw an opportunity for an apparel line.

Others started in e-commerce as resellers and wanted to progress to their own private label. Hula Global aims to support founders of this kind by offering technical solutions within its ecosystem.

This is where Hula Global stands out.

Rather than expecting founders to possess every detail of knowledge in the areas of garment construction, fabric selection, pattern making, and the various processes of manufacture, we offer a support structure that helps founders through this complexity.

Our internal designers, product developers, and technical teams help non-fashion founders so they can concentrate on their brands, narratives, and growth while we manage the production intricacies.

Hula Global provides significant value to founders, even those who have a background in fashion design. Many trained designers encounter issues with the manufacturing and supply chain areas of the business, including but not limited to sourcing, production scheduling, quality control, logistics, and cost calculations.

Hula Global provides designers with production support and allows them to divert their focus towards creative design while we handle execution at scale.

We collaborate with a broad range of brand types other than just traditional fashion labels, including direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, e-commerce newcomers, influencer brands, celebrity-backed lines, retail groups, streetwear, athleisure, and branded corporate and uniform apparel.

The common thread is that they are building a brand, not just designing garments.

A further reason why Hula Global does not confine itself to fashion designers is that contemporary fashion businesses are in need of a lot more than design skill. Winning apparel brands of today require expertise in supply chain, manufacturing, cost and quality control, and scalability.

Hula Global’s model is structured to enable founders fully, no matter their creative or technical skill level.

In addition to the Creator Support Programs and Masterclass, Bootcamp, and Co-Pilot, Hula Global provides extra support to first-time founders. These programs assist individuals who lack formal training in the fashion industry but possess a substantial amount of nurturing creativity and considerable business acumen.

This further legitimizes Hula Global’s non-exclusivity to fashion designers but rather extends to a multitude of diverse founders.

Moreover, Hula Global's development programs and flexible Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) allow non-designer founders to venture into the world of fashion without having to make a colossal investment or have industry connections. We assist in ideation, product development, and brand scaling as we support the founder’s growing confidence and experience.

To conclude, Hula Global could work solely with fashion designers, but we prefer to collaborate with a diverse array of brand owners and founders, many of whom do not have any kind of fashion training.

Our supportive approach, coupled with the education of founders from varying backgrounds, is unique. We help them convert their concepts into tangible, high-quality, scalable fashion products.
