How is the Accelerator different from the Masterclass?

Masterclass vs Bootcamp

The Fashion Business Masterclass and the Fashion Business Accelerator (Bootcamp) are both aimed at aspiring and early-stage fashion founders, but they target different objectives, different depths of learning, and have very different outcomes.

Both are valuable in their own right; the most important difference between the two is their level of engagement, practical, implementational, and personal involvement. The Masterclass is more of an educational, strategic learning experience. The Accelerator is more of a program where participants will actively build and professionally execute their fashion business plans.

The Masterclass is more of a foundational learning experience and helps participants understand first the basics of starting and growing a fashion brand. It is conducted as a real time, online teaching session, with industry specialist Karan Bose - Founder of Hula Global, so participants are able to understand what goes on in the industry, and how brands scale, and what the critical errors in your thinking are.

The Masterclass is more of a teaching session on the vertical, and highly rational, and institutional level, and strategic above, whereas it shy away from the operational, it also neglects executive components of the building of a brand.

It is most suited for starters who are exploring the idea of starting a fashion brand but don’t know what it takes to build one and more especially for those with no prior experience to the industry, those wanting to gather knowledge on the industry before jumping financially and operationally to sort of business.

The Accelerator Bootcamp is unique in that it moves through the whole cycle of ideation to execution in the incredible amount of time of three days. Building a real brand is a hands-on process.

Bootcamp participants don’t just learn. They do!

With coaching, mentoring, and brand development tools in hand, they leave the Bootcamp with a brand ready to go. There is a difference between someone looking to pivot and needing to truly launch a brand, and the Bootcamp is that destination.

To give brand founders a productive and positive experience, they provide roadmaps, checklists, and a lot of developed and refined guidance to bring the brand and the founder to that nearly operational-ready status.

Likewise, the Masterclass and the Bootcamp Accelerator are different in depth of learning and involvement. An example of this is in the duration and coverage breadth of the fashion industry of a geographically and economically smaller Masterclass.

It is intended to provide an overall comprehension of the industry to meet and then answer three essential and pivotal pre-learner questions that the participants structure:

  1. What is their starting point - Point A: How much information they already know about starting and running a clothing brand

  2. Their end goal - Point B: what does an ideal outcome for them look like

  3. The fuel - How much time, energy, and money is required to go from Point A to Point B

The Accelerator, on the other hand, goes beyond theory and guides the participants in the completion of every example of the “how”.

The Masterclass is suitable for individuals who are still in the exploration stage, do not know what niche to pursue, and are not ready to financially commit to their brand. It is a low-commitment way to dip their toes into fashion entrepreneurship.

The Bootcamp Accelerator is for founders who have made up their minds about wanting to build a brand and are willing to get to work.

The two programs also vary in terms of the amount of time and work commitment required. The Masterclass is one session, about 90 minutes, so it’s easy and accessible for people with packed calendars.

The Accelerator, on the other hand, has over 50 course modules that are supposed to be completed before the three-day program begins, and participants are expected to be active, focused, and fully dedicated to the program.

Regarding cost and value, the Masterclass is priced at $7, a relatively inexpensive way to start learning about the fashion business for the first time. In contrast, the fashion bootcamp accelerator is priced at $1999, a more considerable cost for a founder, and represents a deeper commitment

This difference illustrates the changes in the amount of depth, mentorship, and support that are available in each program.

The Masterclass and the Bootcamp Accelerator programs have been developed to be complementary and not competitive. Most founders will do the Masterclass first to gain some clarity and confidence before moving into the Accelerator when they are ready to take action. The Masterclass provides the groundwork, and the Accelerator provides the rest.

The Masterclass essentially teaches you the different frameworks of how successful fashion brands operate. The Accelerator puts those frameworks into real time, guided templates, expert mentorship, and actual supplier access. One is to learn and comprehend, whereas the other is to do and construct.
