Best Prices Offered by Hula Global for 20 Pieces in 6 Models

One of the most common questions we receive from emerging fashion brands is whether Hula Global can offer competitive pricing for small orders, such as 20 pieces across multiple designs or models. While we understand the need for small test runs, it’s important to clarify how pricing works, why minimum order values matter, and what factors influence the final quotation.

Difficulty of Pricing Without Technical Details

It is very difficult to evaluate prices accurately without reviewing tech packs, designs, and product specifications. Each product may vary in terms of fabric, construction complexity, trims, and other production requirements. For instance, a basic cotton t-shirt differs significantly from a luxury designer piece in terms of material costs, labour, and finishing processes.

Having said that, Hula Global has experience producing products across a wide range of price points. Some of our products have cost under $5 per unit, while others may be priced $10 per unit. On the other end of the spectrum, we have also produced products with price points exceeding $3,000 USD per unit, particularly for high-end luxury collections. This demonstrates the versatility of our production capabilities, but also underscores the fact that price evaluation is always design-specific.

Importance of Minimum Order Values (MOV)

Before discussing prices, it’s essential to understand our Minimum Order Value (MOV) policy. Hula Global does not define minimums based on quantity alone; instead, our threshold is based on the total order value. Our standard MOV is $25,000 USD, which ensures that every production run is economically viable for the factory.

Let’s consider the scenario in question: you are asking for 20 pieces in 6 models, total of 120 units. If we assume an average product value of $10 or even $20 per unit, the total order value would be:

20 pieces × 6 models = 120 units

$20 per unit × 120 units = $2,400 USD

Even at $20 per unit, this total is less than 10% of our minimum order value of $25,000 USD. From a production standpoint, this is not feasible. The fixed costs, labour, operational overhead, and quality assurance required to manufacture 120 units would exceed the potential margin generated from such a small order.

Why Small Orders Are Challenging

Producing very small quantities is challenging for several reasons:

1. Fixed Costs- Every production run involves a fixed set of costs, including factory setup, allocation of staff, quality control, and machinery usage. Small orders often cannot cover these fixed costs.

2. Operational Efficiency- Factories are optimized to handle batch production. Very small orders disrupt standard production schedules and can lead to inefficiencies.

3. Margins- Hula Global applies margins based on order value. With very small orders, margins may not be sufficient to sustain the production operation, even if the unit cost is low.

4. Material Procurement- Fabrics, trims, and other raw materials are usually sourced in minimum quantities. For very small runs, sourcing sufficient quantities for production may not be possible, or it could increase per-unit costs significantly.

For these reasons, we encourage brands to evaluate their order size in relation to our MOV before requesting pricing. While small orders are understandable, the economics of production make them challenging to fulfill within our standard framework.

Options for Small or Test Orders

  • For brands that want to test the market or explore small quantities, there are several options:

  • Work with local suppliers or wholesalers to produce initial samples or limited batches before scaling up to meet the MOV with Hula Global.

  • Consolidate multiple small designs or styles into a larger batch to meet the $25,000 MOV, which allows you to benefit from both economies of scale and quality production.

  • Explore our product development services or accelerator programs, which can help structure your first collection in a way that aligns with our minimum order requirements.

These options ensure that brands can experiment with their products while still planning for sustainable production and growth.

Conclusion

Pricing for a small order of 20 pieces across 6 models cannot be provided without reviewing tech packs, designs, and product specifications. Even assuming an average unit price of $10-$20, the total order value of $2,400 is far below our minimum order value of $25,000 USD, making the order infeasible under our standard production model.

Hula Global’s minimum order value exists to ensure production efficiency, cover fixed costs, and maintain quality standards. Brands are encouraged to either consolidate their small orders into a larger batch or work with alternative suppliers for test quantities. By understanding this structure, brands can plan strategically for both small-scale testing and larger production runs, ultimately aligning with sustainable growth and quality manufacturing practices.
