Understanding a company’s return policy is an important part of building trust and setting expectations. When it comes to manufacturing and production, especially customized production, returns are not always as straightforward as they are in retail.
At Hula Global, our production is customized for each specific brand.
Every order is made according to the brand’s unique specifications, requirements, and purchase order details. As a result, once the goods are dispatched, we cannot accept any form of return.
Because of the nature of customized production, returns are extremely complex. To make this easier to understand, we have categorized returns into two broad types:
Returns due to a manufacturing defect
Returns due to other reasons (non-manufacturing defect)
Policy for returns by Hula Global
Returns due to manufacturing defect
While we oversee our production process with very strong and stringent production control, we still recommend getting third-party inspection services to further verify quality control processes.
We place significant importance on quality checks throughout production. However, once the goods leave our factories, we have very little control over them.
Additionally, once the goods pass customs, the import duties on "returns" are excessive. This makes the process of returning goods not only complicated but also financially impractical. In many cases, returns become an absolutely redundant activity because of these logistical and financial barriers.
Since returns are practically impossible, we impose strict control before dispatch.
Quality control happens prior to shipment to reduce the risk of defective goods being sent out. For example, if you ordered 6500 pieces in a particular purchase order, we may stop 500, 700, or even 1000 pieces if we are not satisfied with the quality. If certain units do not meet our standards at the final stage, they are held back.
Importantly, we do not bill you for the products that were found defective even at the final stage. This ensures that you are not charged for pieces that did not pass the required quality checks before dispatch.
Additionally, some of our brands use third-party inspection agencies for added assurance. Some commonly used inspection agencies by our clients are SGS, Intertek, and Bureau Veritas. We recommend having a double layer of security when it comes to quality. Third-party inspections can provide additional verification and confidence before shipment.
If you opted for the Hula Global Quality Assurance Program (HGQA), you will be entitled for refunds. Your refunds would be determined by your policy document. The specific terms under HGQA govern how such situations are handled, and we recommend reviewing your policy document carefully for clarity.
2. Returns due to other reasons (non-manufacturing defect)
We have very little control and accountability on returns that arise for reasons other than manufacturing defects.
Because production is customized and goods are manufactured as per approved specifications, issues that arise due to reasons outside manufacturing defects fall outside our direct control. Once goods are dispatched and especially once they have cleared customs, managing returns becomes highly complex and costly.
For this reason, we strongly emphasize clarity, approvals, and quality checks before shipment. Ensuring that specifications are accurate, approvals are confirmed, and inspections are conducted prior to dispatch significantly reduces the likelihood of complications later.
Given the structure of customized production and international logistics, preventing issues before dispatch is far more practical than attempting returns afterward.
In summary, because our production is customized for each brand, we cannot accept returns once goods are dispatched. We enforce strict quality control before shipment, may hold back defective pieces without billing you, and recommend third-party inspections for added security. If you are enrolled under HGQA, refund eligibility will be governed by your policy document.
Clear communication and strong pre-dispatch quality checks remain the most effective approach within this framework.
