To apply for the Co-Pilot Program, the first step is to go to the official website of Hula Global and select the 'Apply for Co-Pilot Access' option.
The portal is exclusive to brands looking to go beyond the sampling, ideation, or small-scale production phases and seeks to transition into a more structured manufacturing setup.
After clicking the button, you will have access to an application form that outlines the most important aspects of your brand, as well as the details of your product needs.
This application form will ask for some general information regarding your business, such as your brand name, business website, or social media handles, your target market, and where you see yourself in your fashion journey.
Are you at the ideation stage of the business, pre-launch, or selling on a micro scale? Whatever the stage, be honest and clear, as this will assist the Hula Global team to understand your needs better and how the Co-Pilot Program can support you.
You will also need to describe the type of products you plan to produce. This could include, but is not limited to, T-shirts, dresses, activewear, outerwear, and other accessories.
You may also be questioned regarding how many units you expect to order, what types of fabric you prefer, and what prices you have in mind.
Even though you may not have solid figures for this, do your best to give a reasonably realistic estimate. This will help a great deal for the evaluators.
Articulating your brand vision and business objectives is a critical component of the application. Hula Global wants more than brands that simply want to make clothes.
They want founders committed to developing a sustainable fashion business. Your answers should demonstrate your dedication to and your long-term sustainability of the business, as well as your eagerness to learn and collaborate within the Co-Pilot framework.
The Co-Pilot Program is about helping small and medium-sized brands with low MOQ needs.
After you apply, Hula Global does an internal review. This mainly determines whether your brand aligns with the Program. They will usually review your application within 48 hours. They will review your product category, your budget expectations, and how all of this aligns with Hula Global's purpose.
During the review period, the team also analyzes if your manufacturing needs align with the 27 specialized factories that Hula Global works with. It is important that all parties involved can effectively collaborate; for this reason, Co-Pilot is not geared to all products and business models.
Once the application is approved, Hula Global will contact you via email or book a call directly. This is about the onboarding step and usually the last step before you submit your Production Plan. Also, feel free to share your questions with us about the Program.
There are instances where, in case of a non-approval of any of your applications, Hula Global offers feedback or alternative programs such as Masterclass, Bootcamp, or Product Development services.
This means that even though Co-Pilot may not be the right solution at that moment, you still have opportunities to work with Hula Global in the future.
Once enrolled in the Co-Pilot Program, you will receive an email with onboarding information, which can include program details such as our program guidelines, fee structures, and timelines.
You will then be assisted with the basic stages of product development, costing, and production planning according to your individual needs.
It is worth mentioning that your application does not mean you are committed to the program financially. This application only serves as an opportunity for Hula Global to learn about your brand and for you to find out if the opportunity to partner with Co-Pilot is right for you.
For founders who are serious about manufacturing but are worried about the minimum order quantities, Co-Pilot is an essential tool to use as the first step in accessing experienced factories with more flexible minimum order quantities. It helps you go from concept to production in an organized, facilitated, and scalable way.
In a nutshell, for you to apply for the Co-Pilot Program, you will only be required to click on the ‘Apply for Co-Pilot Access’ button and fill out the application form. After applying, you only have to wait for the Hula Global team to respond to your application within the next 48 hours. This makes the whole application and manufacturing process for you smooth and transparent.
